Strategy & foundation (non-recurring)

Cristina is an esthetician and massage therapist with an established local practice. While she was active on Instagram, her online presence did not clearly communicate the quality of her services, her expertise, or her positioning as a premium wellness professional.

The goal of this project was to create a clear visual and content direction for her personal brand — one that builds trust, feels professional, and supports higher-value clients.

The Challenge

Before our collaboration, Cristina’s Instagram presence had several common issues seen in personal brands:

  • Mixed personal and professional content in the main feed
  • Inconsistent visual quality
  • No clear narrative around services or expertise
  • Difficult for new visitors to immediately understand her value
  • Strong reliance on direct messages and explanations instead of content doing the work

She also wanted to:

  • Attract more English-speaking Canadian clients
  • Position herself more confidently for premium services
  • Reduce confusion around what she offers
  • Move toward being fully booked

Budget and time were limited, so the solution needed to be efficient, focused, and reusable.

Strategy & Creative Direction

Rather than jumping straight into posting, we started with strategy and structure.

Core Strategy Pillars

Based on discovery, we defined four content pillars:

  1. Trust & professionalism
  2. Expertise and procedures
  3. Calm, safe, welcoming atmosphere
  4. Emotional reassurance and self-care

This approach was documented in a structured social media growth strategy, including objectives, goals, and content logic.

Visual Direction

The visual direction intentionally focused on:

  • Neutral, soft tones
  • Clean and minimal compositions
  • Close-ups of procedures and skin
  • Natural light, no filters, no heavy editing

We deliberately avoided:

  • Aggressive sales messaging
  • Trend-driven but irrelevant Reels
  • Over-editing or beauty filters
  • Over-personal content in the main feed

The goal was to make the account feel professional, calm, and trustworthy, not promotional.

Content Planning & Feed Structure

A key deliverable of this project was a clear content system, not just photos.

Core Pages

We created:

  • A one-month content plan with post ideas, themes, and prompts
  • A feed layout example showing how posts could work together visually
  • Guidance on balancing education, testimonials, services, and lifestyle content

This feed plan was designed to help Cristina:

  • Post consistently without guessing
  • Keep personal content in Stories
  • Maintain a cohesive grid that reflects her brand

Photoshoot & Content Production

The project included a full-day photoshoot, carefully planned in advance.

What We Shot

  • 4 key esthetic procedures
  • Close-ups of tools and treatments
  • Calm, in-process moments
  • Environment and treatment room details
  • Natural portrait shots

To maximize value from one shoot:

  • We scripted what needed to be captured
  • Planned angles and compositions in advance
  • Shot both photo and video content simultaneously

Deliverables

  • ~30 edited, social-ready images
  • Raw video material for future Reels
  • A reusable visual library Cristina can return to over time

Before & After (Positioning Shift)

Before

  • Mixed personal and professional content
  • Low-quality or inconsistent visuals
  • Unclear service focus
  • Instagram did not reflect real-life experience

After (Suggested Direction)

  • Clear, professional visual language
  • Consistent tone and message
  • Services and expertise immediately visible
  • Feed designed to build trust at first glance

Results & Impact

  • Strong, cohesive visual foundation for Cristina’s brand
  • Clear guidance on how to post without mixing messaging
  • Reduced need to explain services repeatedly in DMs
  • Content designed to support premium positioning
  • Positive client feedback on the strategy and visuals

While this was a one-time strategic engagement, the system was intentionally built so Cristina could continue using it independently.

Key Takeaways

  • Personal brands need structure as much as aesthetics
  • One strong shoot + strategy can outperform months of random posting
  • Clear visual systems reduce decision fatigue for clients
  • Trust-based industries benefit from calm, editorial content
