TataLel is a creative apparel brand specializing in embroidered designs that blend traditional motifs with modern aesthetics. The brand focuses on natural materials — primarily cotton — and offers both ready-made products and custom embroidery orders.

We partnered with TataLel to design, brand, and build their first-ever e-commerce website, creating a system that supports online sales, reduces manual order handling, and allows the brand owner to manage products independently — without technical complexity.

The Challenge

TataLel was launching as a brand-new online business with no existing website or e-commerce infrastructure.

Key issues included:

  • No prior online store or digital presence
  • Tight budget and limited initial content
  • A non-technical business owner
  • High manual workload for order handling and customer communication
  • Complex product variations (sizes, colors, embroidery options)
  • Need for a simple, intuitive system that scales

The primary business goal was to move all orders online, reduce back-and-forth communication with customers, and create a seamless shopping experience that clearly explains sizing, variations, and customization options.

Discovery & Brand Foundations

Because TataLel did not have an existing website or finalized digital branding, the project started with brand and business discovery.

Together with the owner, we:

  • Clarified the brand’s values and positioning
  • Defined a nature-inspired, handmade visual direction
  • Developed the logo and brand color palette
  • Established tone of voice and content structure
  • Collaborated closely on all written content

The result was a brand presence that feels:

  • Calm and natural
  • Handmade but modern
  • Minimalistic and product-focused

Design & UX Approach

Visual Direction

The website design was intentionally:

  • Nature-inspired
  • Minimal and uncluttered
  • Focused on product photography and embroidery details
  • Built around natural tones and materials

The goal was to let the products speak for themselves while maintaining a strong, cohesive brand identity.

UX Priorities

Key user experience goals included:

  • Easy product browsing
  • Clear size and color variations
  • Simple checkout flow
  • Mobile-friendly shopping
  • Reduced customer confusion around sizing and options

We intentionally avoided:

  • Overloaded layouts
  • Aggressive sales tactics
  • Complex navigation or multi-step forms

E-commerce & Functionality

The store was built using WordPress + WooCommerce, with Elementor as a base and extensive customization on top.

Key Features

  • Product variations for size and color
  • Clear sizing logic for different product types (T-shirts vs sweatshirts)
  • Custom embroidery request flow
  • Simplified product pages to reduce customer questions
  • Flat-rate shipping within Canada
  • Canada Post shipping label creation integration
  • Secure checkout and standard payment methods

The system was designed so the store owner can:

  • Add and manage products independently
  • Update pricing, variations, and availability easily
  • Handle orders without technical assistance
